The Ian Woosnam Course will be celebrating 25 Years in September 2022. The course officially opened on the 8th September 1997 with a four nations style golf match between Ian Woosnam (Wales), Sam Torrance (Scotland), Peter Baker (England) and Ronan Rafferty (Ireland). Other sports stars from Rugby and Snooker joined the professionals for a fun day out. Our club president John Taylor, played on the opening day in the Wales Team and is looking forward to being part of the festivities for the 25th Anniversary.

25th Anniversary Celebrations Menu


Exactly 25 years on since the opening day and we are looking forward to welcoming a host of Leaderboard professional golfers, Leaderboard Celebrities and Leaderboard staff and managers to Dale Hill for a team event competition.

Teams will be made up of three Members or Guests and either a professional golfer, celebrity or staff member will join each team of three for a day of fun. On arrival you will receive a goody bag of 25th Anniversary memorabilia as well as snacks for out on the course and be able to enjoy a breakfast roll served with coffee, tea and orange juice in the Dale Hill Suite.

A draw will be made during breakfast for the team captains whom could be anyone from John Tolliday our long serving professional at Dale Hill to John Taylor our current President and ex British Lions Rugby star to Chris Hollins ex BBC sports presenter and winner of Strictly Come dancing or perhaps either James Jordan from strictly come dancing and winner of Dancing on Ice or our very own General Manager Carl Rundgren.

Eighteen holes of golf will follow with all competitors enjoying the use of a buggy for the day. On course refreshments will be made available by way of a drinks buggy which is being supported by Greene King.

After golf a lavish dinner will be served, with wines matched to the meal included. After dinner we will enjoy some tales from the opening day by John Taylor, and then a comedy show by Adger Brown and last but not least the all important prizegiving. Some great prizes will be on offer from Taylormade, Callaway and Ping. It will certainly be a day to remember.
