Dale Hill Pro Newsletter - 24th June 2010

The good weather has finally arrived and hopefully is here to stay! This month promises to be a huge month for sport with the World Cup well under way, Wimbledon starting and the US Open just passed!

The World Cup is now into its final group games and is looking to hot up for the England boys. Having not recorded a win in the group stages as of yet, Capello will be keen to deliver a big performance on Wednesday to reinstate a bit of confidence in the England team! We invite all of you to come down to watch any and all of the World Cup games on our new BIG SCREENS! We are also offering a jug of beer and pizza for just £20. Hope to see you all there cheering on the boys!

On the golf side of things, Pebble Beach was the venue for the US open this week and our hopes for an English win were high with Lee Westwood finding some great form as of late and Ian Poulter showing some promise! However it was a Northern Irishman who took the trophy. Graeme McDowell managed to see off all his competitors on the final day to be the first European in 40 years to win the US Open!

Our very own team of Irish men won the International match last Sunday! So a big thanks to all of the guys that took part in the competition and to the captains for organising their nation’s teams.

Captains' Charity
Last week our two club captains Stuart Macfarlane and Pat Lowing hosted their Captains’ Charity which was a huge success. The day raised a staggering £2435.00, which went to their chosen charity Christopher's Smile. A big thanks must go out to both Stuart and Pat for organising the event and to all of the helpers on the day to make the event run as smoothly as it did.

Lastly I would like to remind everyone that the Leaderboard challenge is now under 3 weeks away. So all donations at this stage are very much appreciated and those extra pennies will spur on our boys on the final few holes come the 5th of July. We welcome as many people as possible down to the club on the evening of the 5th for a BBQ and to watch the groups come in after a long day’s golf.

Win Ryder Cup Tickets & Fanwear
Who do you think is going to make the European Ryder Cup team for this year’s matches at the Celtic Manor resort? More importantly, if you were the captain, who would your three ‘wildcard’ entries be?

Now is your chance to show off your captaincy skills. Enter the twelve players who you think will take on the USA in October and – if you guess right – you’ll be entered into a draw to win tickets to the event itself, as well as items from Glenmuir’s Ryder Cup Fanwear Collection.
